Juried by Edward Goldman
Our 46th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper features 92 artworks chosen by our juror from among the 1102 entries submitted from across the nation. The selected works reward the viewer who stands close and looks carefully. As always, the focus is on paper as a structural material or as the surface used for any number of artistic approaches. Copies of the catalog are available in each gallery. Spend some time reading individual artist’s statements; they offer valuable insight into the passion and intellectual processes of our artists. Whether you enjoy color, line, shape, texture or narrative, there is something here for you, the viewer, to appreciate. We invite you to explore, think, feel and find delight in Brand 46.

It’s been quite a challenge to go through over 1000 submissions, trying to make the best judgment of quality while only viewing the artworks on a computer screen. My final selection of 92 artworks includes a wide variety of media in both two and three dimensions and I am very eager to see them in a real place, in real time. I won’t be surprised if most of them turn out to be even more appealing in person than they originally appeared digitally. Selecting a winner will be quite difficult and I am very much looking forward to it. I hope you enjoy the exhibition.
